2022.01.22 20:22 DOG_II Is there a person or organization tracking violence against conservationists, environmentalists, etc.?

Hey all. Hoping someone can help me out with this.
I wondering if anyone knows of a person or group looking at violence against conservationists and environmentalists worldwide, keeping track of what's going on where. I have not been able to find anything consolidating information, so it's been very difficult to track. I tried last year for a while, but was not very effective, and with reporting so scattered, hard to know if I was getting any sort of actual representation of what's happening. I'd also be interested in people tracking this kind of thing in specific regions.
This idea came back to the forefront of my attention recently due to the incredibly tragic murder of Breiner David Cucuñame. I am currently in school, soon to graduate with a degree in Conservation Biology, and this aspect is almost never brought up, and personally I think it deserves much more of our attention.
If I can't find anyone, I'm considering doing my best to track it myself, and update a twitter page dedicated to it, or something similar.
Thanks in advance.

2022.01.22 20:22 Usled What players, could be modern or older, have/had unconventional jumpshots from an eye point of view but were aesthetically pleasing on the release.

Title pretty much says it all who are some current or former players you can think of that didn’t have the most fundamentally sound form but on the release it was eye candy
For me it’s Chuma Okeke I love the way his guide hand falls off the ball and how his lower body lines up. In real time it can look like he’s not using his guide hand at all but on the release and more so when it goes in it looks really good.

2022.01.22 20:22 KiwiMiddy Home isolation Omicron questions.

If you have to isolate for 10 days every time you come into contact with someone with Omicron I can foresee a lot of time off work in the next year. I still don’t like the idea of returning home to your family home if you find out you are a close contact to a person with Omicron…eg. I work with ppl I support. If I find out they have Omicron then why would I go home to give it to my family? Do others have a better plan? Self contained caravan, tent, sleepout….

2022.01.22 20:22 aesthetical-olive A father was giving his son 'the talk' one day.

The son says, "Dad, what do you know about tits?" The father replies with, "well son, all I'll say is when girls are your age, you gotta get 'em while they're fresh." The son replies back asking, "what about when the girls are mom's age?" To that, the father asks, "well, my boy, they definately have something in common with the two trucks from that Lemon Demon song." The son, of course, asks why, and the father exclaims, "they make grown men cry."

2022.01.22 20:22 Poweredkingbear I feel like alot of progressives are still stuck in 2016.

There's alot of people on the left that still obsess over the idea of winning over republicans and independent voters. It's one thing to try to convince them about your progressive policies which is extremely important ,but some folks such as Kyle or Shoe0nhead including Bernie himself deluded themselves into thinking that the republican voters and independent voters were disfranchised by the democrats because they refused to be progressive which is not remotely true at all.
I think 2016 and all the talking points that came afterward created this image that republican voters and independent voters are all pro working class folks that were disfranchised by the democrats because neoliberalism and corporatism. You even similar arguments in states like West Virginia where progressive pundits made you believe that they want nothing more but free healthcare and ending corporate greed. There's alot of projection going on. They rely on this assumption that the arguments that the republican voters are making is similar to us. My point is that progressives should let go off certain narratives because many of them are oudated and not even true at all. Independent voters are not going to save us because they have been shown over and over that they're literally just partisan democrats and republicans so their party affilitation is completely irrelevant. Coal miners in West Virginia have zero intention of ever supporting a progressive since Paula Jean Swearingen got her ass obliterated by a corporate ghoul like Joe Manchin who would rather let coal miners die than help them. They absolutely don't care because coal mining to them is family tradition. Their parents worked in coal mines and their grand parents also worked in coal mines. Their relatives, their friends and their children also worked in coal mines. Even if the Build Back Better plan was passed and those same coal miners were offered a job to build solar panels where they get paid $100 per hour + benefits + free healthcare insured by the government + paid leave, of course they would still choose to work in coal mines even if they die at the age of 60 or 70 because of black lung disease in the name of family tradition.
There's also the fact that the majority of republican voters are boomers that had everything and anything in the past ,but decided to burn down bridges for future generation. I think the entire “It is no great secret that the Republican party is winning more and more support from working people,” statement from Bernie is an overstatement. The reason why republicans are winning because the democrats failed to motivate their own base and massive voter supression from red states. No amount of progressive policy is ever going to win over any republican voters regardless of polling data because many of those polling data such as the high support for medicare4all actually falls apart once you bring up taxation or any taxation. So I'm not really sure why Kyle refuses to update his stance on this and can't stop bringing up those polling data with flawed dichotomy that could mean to alot of people with contradictory answer. I'm not saying that they're way too far gone ,but because they drank the cool aid decades ago. It's a chicken or the egg scenario. Some folks have this assumption that republican boomers were first disfranchised by the democrats and started voting for republicans because they felt like republicans were the only ones working for them. The truth is that republican boomers wanted more than they already had. It's all motivated by greed. Some people on the left can't fathom that it's possible for someone to be gullible without being disfranchised by anything or being uneducated or poor. They think it's a contradiction. They build up an image on their head that the majority of republican voters had a Joker moment because of a one bad day scenario instead of turning on the radio one time and hearing Rush Limbaugh for the first time because the right had the upper hand in propaganda while also being charismatic and feeling like you could hang out with those right wing hosts where you could drink beer and watch American baseball together before finally eating up all of their bullshit. Republican voters are not going to save any of us either too.
There's alot of cognitive dissonance going on which is understandable because we should be frustrated of what the democrats are doing and refusing to do ,but I also don't think it's an excuse to delude ourselves either.

2022.01.22 20:22 rocky7474 Local Taco Bell has Terrible Doordash Policy

I have to rant a bit. I'm newish to driving, about a month now. One of the local Taco Bell's has had staffing issues since I started and its basically drive thru only to pick up orders. I know what I'm getting into with the long drive thru line. Anyways, today I had 2 orders to pick up from Taco Bell. I tell the operator the 2 names and they tell me to pick up the one from the window and pull back around for the other. I thought it was strange or maybe I misheard.
So once I get to the window to pick up, my 1st order is ready for me. I ask about the 2nd and they state it is store policy to only give 1 Doordash order at a time. I will have to get back into the drive thru line and wait again for the 2nd order.... Are you kidding me?? Why would I wait 10-15 minutes for an order while 1 order is in my car already. By the time I'm through the line again that first order is getting colder by the minute. I immediately unassigned and proceeded to deliver the one they gave me.
How is it helpful to anyone to have the driver just go through the drive thru line again for the 2nd order? One of the meals will be cold. Both orders have to wait, it wastes the driver and the customer's time. Anyway. Stupid new Taco Bell policy at my local one. Be wary I suppose in case it happens to you.
